Art has the ability to alter our perception and understanding of the world through aesthetic and conceptual means by generating new ways of thinking, feeling, and seeing. I am interested in how humans make sense of their surroundings through scientific and philosophical theory particularly when thought, experimentation, and artworks disrupt the presupposed state of things. Further, how does our humanness (senses, thoughts, feelings) affect our perception of what is real, what is plausible, and what is inevitable? My art undertakes formal experimentations grounded in concepts ranging from theoretical physics to human psychology. The pieces I create intend to reveal the multiplicity and complexity of perception to illuminate art as a tool for discovery.
